Empower Youth: United Methodist Women at Scouting Jamboree

United Methodist female pastors and seminarians are being recruited to be leaders at the Scouting America National Jamboree 2026, set for July 22 to 31 at Summit Bechtel Reserve in Glen Jean, West Virginia.

Come serve at the Scouting America National Jamboree, a high-impact event where thousands of youths gather to explore leadership, service, and faith. Their presence is more than symbolic—it’s transformational. Will you lead boldly into the future?

“Seeing all the gifts” means recognizing the unique spiritual, emotional, and visionary strengths women bring to ministry. From empathetic pastoral care to prophetic advocacy, these leaders embody a theology of grace and inclusion that resonates deeply with young scouts—especially girls, who see women leading in faith spaces. Will you serve joyfully and help others to be seen?

Today’s Scouting America leads the way in embracing all people. Youth and leaders live together in the Scout Oath and the Scout Law. Being friendly, courteous, and kind has a place no matter who you are. Living into your best for God, others, and you is a basis for a good life. Scouts will be from around the country and the world. There will be both girls and boys. We need women who can share the unique experiences of their lives.

United Methodist women can offer a living sermon of hope, courage, and possibility. Let’s serve courageously together!

Interested in serving? The Jamboree needs your voice, your gifts, and your witness. There are many roles and opportunities. Please join us. Be the leader a young scout remembers for a lifetime.

One of the most moving experiences at the Jamboree is joining thousands in worship, surrounded by leaders who reflect the diversity of the youth they serve. A diverse chaplaincy team is essential to meet the spiritual needs of all participants. Volunteer chaplains will be present throughout the event to offer guidance, support, and a compassionate presence for Scouts navigating both challenges and triumphs.

There are many ways to serve—whether through preaching, pastoral care, mentoring, listening, or simply being a visible presence of faith and encouragement. The Jamboree is a place where you can learn, grow, share, and connect in powerful ways. If you can’t make it the whole time, just let us know. We can always use your gifts for God
